Angelica Root Essential Oil

Angelica Root Essential Oil Information

Angelica Root Essential OilThe Angelica Root Essential Oil’s unique earthy and woody aroma has been used in ancient rituals to enrich and renew the body. In the Middle Ages, the herb was known as a natural restorative or health tonic. In fact, this oil was known as the Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit Root, Archangel Root and Oil of Angels because of its amazing healing power.

Its healing powers are so great that the ancient civilization has associated its origin as coming from the Divine Source. During the Black Plague that swept Europe, the herb was included in the preparation of the famous Chartreuse and Benedictine liqueur. Called as the Angelica Water, the herb was considered as an antidote. Its seeds and roots were burned to purify the air in 1665.

The essential oil is extracted from the dried roots of the Angelica plant using the process of steam distillation. The oil rebuilds strength after any condition, which makes it useful in convalescence after chronic illness. It is great for the respiratory and digestive tissues as well as the lymphatic system, including that of the immune system.

It relieves muscle spasms and is beneficial in driving out excess gas from your stomach. By making the intestinal and abdominal muscles relax, it lets the gas pass through. Carminatives like the Angelica help promote digestion and relieve bloating or flatulence. Research supports that carminatives can improve the symptoms of abdominal pain, distention and irregular bowel habit.

The Angelica oil is used for heartburn, circulation problems, insomnia, nervousness, runny nose and even anorexia. It is also used to increase urine production, improve sex drive, kill germs, and stimulate the production and secretion of phlegm. When combined with other herbs, it can also be used in treating premature ejaculation by increasing the threshold of vibrations and senses received by the penis.

Several studies indicate the oil may help fight infections, stimulate the immune system and eliminate toxins. Some researchers refer to the oil as a purifying agent that can relieve gout, rheumatism, and bronchitis. The oil is believed to have the ability to expel toxins by increasing sweat.

The oil’s amazing diuretic and detoxifying properties help ease stagnant lymphatic fluids. As a result, it helps relieve arthritic pains and rheumatism, as well as prevent fluid retention including the appearance of cellulite. The ability of the oil to promote sweating and urination and the way in which it helps excrete toxins from the body can help you fight and reduce fever.

When the oil is diffuse, you benefit from its calming and emotional support. Its soothing qualities help relax the nerves and the muscles. Because of its ability to restore peace and calmness to your body and mind, you get to spend a night of restful sleep. The aromatic influence of this oil is effective in helping restore good, happy memories. It can ease muscle tension and occasional spasm. The oil is a great muscle relaxant. Angelica Root Essential Oil.
